In 1982, Bally started creating video slots games. This was the beginning of the company’s foray into the digital gaming world. Since then, Bally Technologies has launched dozens of video slots that are available in both the online and land-based markets. China River Slot. China River is a quality online slot game based on truth, rather than fables and legends like most online slot games. This 5-reel, 30-payline slot game was developed by Bally Technologies and anyone who likes a little history with their slot will enjoy China River.

Bally Technologies is among the leading firms that manufacture slot machines and develop cutting-edge gaming technology. The company is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was founded in 1968 under the name Advanced Patent Technology. After a series of name changes and acquisitions, the corporation finally took to the name Bally, a trademark originating from Bally Manufacturing Corporation.

Currently, Bally Technologies competes with industry leader IGT and other prominent game design firms like Aristocrat, Bally and WMS. Bally’s history goes way back to the 1930s. The firm is now one of the top companies in industries relating to game design, slot machine manufacturing, operations, distribution of advanced gaming systems and applications for mobile devices.

The organization specializes in the development of reel-spin slots, video slot machines, wide-area progressives and interactive game designs compatible with all iOS and Android devices. The move to mobile derivatives of casino slot games is a recent one though.

One of the world’s biggest and most respected developers of slot machines, Bally Technologies might actually be an unknown name to you, if you’re a recent player and you’ve only tried online games so far. They’re particularly important in the land-based casino market, and they’ve expanded to the online realm as well, but they’re not one of the top names in that particular niche. The company has been around since 1968 though, being based in Las Vegas and since then they’ve launched a large number of popular online slots.

Since 2014, Bally is a division which is part of Scientific Games, one of the giants of the gaming industry, both offline and online. Before their acquisition, the company had revenues of close to 1 billion USD, and they probably went over that number since then.

History

The founding year for Bally was back in 1968, and the company started out with the name Advanced Patent Technology. They changed that name to Alliance Gaming at one point, and then in 1996 they were bought by Bally Gaming. They changed their name once again in 2006. The company started out as a developer of slot machines for land-based casinos, and for decades this has been their market. They only started creating slots for the online market in 2013, so they were late to the party. That year, they registered an income of 997 million USD, just from the land-based side of their business.

In 2014, they were acquired by Scientific Games and they are now one of the four brands united under that name. They continued to release new slot games, even as a subsidiary.

Bally Casino Games

The majority of the games which Bally Technologies offers will be for land-based casinos, and will consist of world-famous slot machines. They’ve expanded to the online space as well though, since 2013, and we’ve gotten a couple of dozen titles from them already. Some are adapted from their popular land-based titles, and examples of that would be the Quick Hit series of Bally slots.

Branded slot machines have found their way to the market via Bally, and for online players there are several that you could enjoy. One is Wonder Woman Gold, another is Wacky Races, along with titles like Titanic, Pawn Stars, Michael Jackson: King of Pop, Cirque Du Soleil Kooza and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Otherwise, theme selection in Bally slot machines tends to vary. Quite a few slots have been inspired by China, in an attempt to appeal to the local market (Blazing X, 88 Fortunes Megaways, China River, etc), while others are closer to the classics (Fruitnation, Quick Hit Super Wheel Wild Red, etc). I wouldn’t necessarily call them adventurous and their slots aren’t unique story wise in most cases, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not enjoyable.

Graphics

For a developer that’s coming from the land-based market, the design is often going to be one of its weak points, and Bally Gaming is no different. Their slot machines will often look good, but place them alongside the releases of online giants like NetEnt, and they’re going to be clear losers visually.

One thing to note about their branded games, is that they tend to look above average, particularly since they’re using photos of actors as symbols, and other developers don’t manage to integrate them as well into the design.

Among their better-looking slot machines, I would mention Celestial King, Sword of Destiny and Wacky Races, though there are others as well.

Features

The graphics might be hit and miss at Bally slots, but the features are almost always impressive. I can give you plenty of examples, as the developer generally creates a different mix of features in each game. In Sword of Destiny you will find free spins and up to 10x multipliers, while in Wacky Races you can find wild reels, random wilds and locked wild reels during the free spins. You can go on to mystery stacks, expanding wilds and free games in Wonder Woman, or to re-spins and free spins in Celestial King.

What I haven’t really seen from them is truly unique features. Their features tend to revolve around wild symbols and wild reels, free spins and multipliers, yet they manage to offer something unique in each release.

Bally Slots RTP and Payouts

The payouts vary, and RTP wise they seem to have two types of releases. Some of their games will have an RTP that is somewhere around 94%, usually the land-based machines, while the online ones will be near 96%, so they’re more in line with the rest of the offer from online developers.

Quite a few Bally online slots are offering fixed or progressive jackpots, and the regular combinations don’t look too bad either. Keep in mind, multipliers are often employed as well, so a win of 500x could turn into one of 5,000x easily, in certain games.
